Welcome to F.O.C.U.O.S., a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in  the Will County Dupage Township. Established in 2019, we have proudly served over 1,000 participants, providing the guidance and resources necessary for their personal and academic growth. Our mission is rooted in empowerment – specifically, empowering underserved and at-risk individuals to realize their full potential. Recognizing the critical need for positive mentorship and tailored programming, we focus on adolescents, youth, and young adults who may otherwise face challenges on their journey to success.

Our Mission

Meet Willie Pole, Executive Director, Founder/CEO

Background:

Born and raised primarily on the South Side of Chicago, Willie Pole faced adversity early in life. His parents' divorce led to a move to the suburbs, where academic challenges and societal expectations labeled him as a problem. Without proper coping mechanisms, Willie found himself living up to society's low expectations. A return to the South Side as a teenager resulted in misguided decisions and association with the wrong crowd.

Transformation:

With faith, family support, and a strong network of friends and mentors, Willie turned his life around. Overcoming academic setbacks, he obtained his GED, Associate’s degree, and pursued certifications as a Paralegal and Associate Addiction Specialist. Willie's journey from a misguided youth to a purpose-driven man inspired him to make a difference.

Mission and Vision:

After life's detours, Willie made it his mission to reach out to at-risk youth, providing the support and guidance he once lacked. F.O.C.U.O.S. aims to prevent youth from falling through the cracks, offering life skills education, exposure to new experiences, and a strong support system. Willie's message to struggling youth is powerful: "You are not a stereotype; now you are the prototype!"
