Weekly Structure

Each week, the program is divided into two main components:

  1. Round-Table Discussions

Day/Time: TBD (1 hour sessions)

Format: Moderated discussions around specific topics relevant to the lives of teens.

Goal: To provide teens with a platform to discuss personal challenges, learn conflict resolution skills, and develop healthy interpersonal relationships.

Round-Table Discussions

  • Description:
These moderated, open discussions allow teens to talk about topics that matter most to them. Each week, a different theme is introduced, such as:
  • Bullying: Understanding its impact and learning strategies to cope and prevent it.
  • Relationships: Building and maintaining healthy relationships with peers, family, and mentors.
  • Conflict Resolution: Developing effective communication skills to handle disagreements and conflicts in a positive manner.
  • Mentorship:
Each session will have a dedicated mentor guiding the discussion and offering advice, creating an environment of trust and respect. Teens are encouraged to share their experiences and support each other, learning from one another’s perspectives.
  • Outcome:
Teens will leave each session with new insights on how to deal with challenges in their everyday lives and how to build stronger relationships.

2. Group Outings

Locations: Various (community parks, local businesses, restaurants, etc.)

Focus: Themed outings that promote personal growth, physical activity, and teamwork.

Goal: To build self-confidence, foster camaraderie, and provide new experiences through diverse activities and meals.

  • Description:
Once a week, participants will embark on group outings designed to expand their horizons. These outings will be focused on helping teens build essential life skills in a fun and interactive setting. Some of our outings will include:
  • Team-Building Exercises: Activities that encourage collaboration, leadership, and problem-solving.
  • Cultural Exploration: Introducing teens to diverse cultures through themed activities and meals, fostering an appreciation for different traditions.
  • Outdoor Adventures: Nature hikes, scavenger hunts, and community service projects that emphasize the importance of giving back and staying active.
  • Skill Building:
Outings are structured to develop skills such as leadership, teamwork, resilience, and adaptability. Teens will be encouraged to step outside their comfort zones, try new things, and bond with their peers.
  • Outcome:
These experiences will help teens build confidence, strengthen their interpersonal skills, and create lasting memories in a positive, supportive environment.
